The Front-Loading rack is designed to permit easy loading and unloading of whole or split firewood, and it neatly stows newspapers and kindling. The rack stores a good deal of firewood above and enough kindling and newspapers for several fires below, all of it easy to access.

Wrought by hand of heavy-gauge hot-rolled steel, the Front-Loading Rack is finished with a rich distressed patina protected by a high-density scratch-resistant coating designed to stand up to cord after cord. Feet below the newspaper storage area lift the rack up off the hearth, making sweeping beneath it a breeze.

The Front-Loading Rack comes with a shovel, a poker and a traditional sorghum hearth broom. (Sorghum brooms, made from the long tassels of a plant related to sugarcane, were invented late in the 18th century by a Massachusetts farmer who went on to invent a machine to manufacture them--an important event in the Industrial Revolution.) The tools hang from a rod that slides left and right for your convenience.
